The New Great Reset

You’ve probably heard a lot of talk the last couple of years about a “Great Reset”— a global effort to unite the whole world economically and politically to save the planet. Or something.

I have to admit, it’s kind of a perfect title. Satan himself couldn’t have thought of a better one—or maybe it was all his idea. After all, God did it, reset the world after the Garden and after the Flood. He’s going to do it again, on the Last Day. Every once in a while, the world needs a reboot, just like that old computer of yours that’s gotten itself all jammed up. COVID certainly jammed up the world, as did other crises like race riots, widespread economic collapse, rising inflation, and bloody new wars.

The goal of the Great Reset is to unite the world to achieve peace and harmony and all that good stuff. Funnily enough, it’s the same thing people tried way back in Genesis with the building of the Tower of Babel. “Come, let us build ourselves a city and a tower with its top in the heavens, and let us make a name for ourselves, lest we be dispersed over the face of the earth.” (Genesis 11:4) The people back then wanted to be completely unified. They wanted glory. They wanted total control, totally apart from God. God put a stop to their grand plans by confusing their language and, well, dispersing them.

History repeats itself.

One of the ways the new Great Reset seeks to bring all the world together under a single umbrella is by establishing a one-world religion. The current pope has been enormously helpful in this endeavor. He often meets with other faith leaders and speaks about how we all serve the same God, just in different ways. He even signed the historic “Document of Human Fraternity” with a Muslim leader that states, “The pluralism and the diversity of religions, color, sex, race, and language are willed by God in his wisdom, through which he created human beings.” Color, sex, and race may be willed by God, but religion? One of these things doesn’t belong.

Pope Francis has been pushing for all religions to come together and find common ground, something that sounds noble on the surface. But Jesus said something quite the opposite: “Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever does not gather with me scatters.” (Matthew 12:30) In insisting that all religions are equally valid, Pope Francis has thrown Jesus under the bus.

The aforementioned document has led to the construction of the Abrahamic Family House, which is due to open this year in Abu Dhabi. Have you heard of it? It consists of a mosque, a church, a synagogue, and a non-denominational education building. According to the website, “The Abrahamic Family House will be a beacon of mutual understanding, harmonious coexistence, and peace among people of faith and goodwill.”

Sounds good, doesn’t it? Of course, the church is not allowed to display a cross because such symbols are illegal in the UAE. The Abrahamic Family house will be a “reflection of the UAE’s belief in tolerance and hospitality”—except for the bit about the cross. And anything else that Islam finds offensive.

The architecture of the buildings is supposed to reflect “diverse communities of worshippers,” yet the buildings look surprisingly similar. They are all big and square with slightly different frontages, emphasizing not diversity but sameness. The church looks nothing like a church, the synagogue nothing like any synagogue I’ve ever seen. Ditto for the mosque. They all look more like post offices, in my opinion. Once again, it’s not about diversity but unity. Finding so much common ground that eventually, you won’t be able to tell them apart.

But, you say, isn’t this a good thing? Doesn’t unity bring peace? Harmony between people? Here’s the truth: what unity achieves, first and foremost, is control. That is the goal of the Great Reset. To have total control over your life. What you think, what you believe, what you do. “Unite and rule” is the endgame.

The Christian Church in the US isn’t doing much better. “Big Eva,” as the mega-church culture is now referred to, has become more interested in pleasing people than pleasing God and therefore has become virtually indistinguishable from the world. Prominent Christian leaders have abandoned the gospel of Jesus in favor of social justice causes like BLM and LGBTQ. They have dutifully carried the government’s water on COVID restrictions and vaccine mandates and even softened their stance on abortion. Most won’t defend the teachings of Jesus when he said, “The only way to the Father is through me.” Worst of all, they refuse to talk about sin and repentance, focusing exclusively on love and grace. Like the Pope, they are interested in finding “common ground” with the world, appealing to the broadest spectrum of people. This is the kind of “religion” the world wants—all love. No judgment. Biblical truth has become inconvenient and must be suppressed.

How will all this end?

In the Book of Revelation, the one-world religion is described as “the great harlot.” It will dominate all the peoples of the world and “commit adultery with the kings of the world” (Rev 17:2-3). It will be “drunk with the blood of the saints” (Rev 17:6), referring to the persecution of those who still follow Jesus. The harlot will be carried by the “beast with seven heads and ten horns” (Rev 17:8), referring to the world government, and sit upon the waters of “peoples and multitudes and languages and nations.” (Rev 17: 15). The harlot will serve the Antichrist, from whom it gets its power. Church and State will be completely intertwined.

We’re already headed there.

If you read my latest book Forbidden, you’ll get my take on how this one world religion might come about.
